A long belated post of the holiday that has since enraptured me. New Zealand is so pristine, isolated and wild, it’s quite a departure from Perth. I loved the snow capped mountains, always present on the horizon and the long stretches of road – passing countless sheep, rugged coastlines and serene, seemingly endless lakes.
Christchurch
Somewhere in Mackenzie country, on the way to Queenstown
Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown
Snow! Somewhere (very cold!) on the way to Wanaka
Lake Wanaka – so beautiful! (even in the rain…)
Fantail Falls in Mt Aspiring National Park
One of the many mountain passes
Whale watching (sperm whales) off Kaikoura
