chez jean-claude patisserie – leederville

Patisserie addicts, this is heaven on earth.

Their crispy narrow baguettes filled with simple but quality fillings just walk out the door. Their donuts, which lack donut holes, are simply cut in half and filled with custard with tiny chocolate chips sprinkled over. I always find it hard to stray from their coffee eclairs – petite, delicate and filled with just enough coffee cream – they are only related in name to the overblown, lunchbar versions. So good. Warm pizzas spread with olives and tomato; fat german sausages encased with crusty pastry; ‘tapas’ flat breads with savoury flavours and various pretzels – so so many good options for lunch. Don’t worry, they do salads too. Their coffee is not fantastic, but you can’t have everything. To make the visit last longer, pick up some bread – the variety is amazing – from traditional baguettes to walnut loaves to ham and cheese croissants. Love.

Wish they opened during weekends….
