elmar’s – mt lawley
Sunday, February 13th, 2011

It’s german food galore – kassler chops, venison sausages and bratwursts – Elmar’s is a treasure trove of cured meats. And, on Saturday mornings they bring out the big cast iron split pan and cook bratwursts right on the footpath, selling hot dogs for $5 a piece and a dollar extra for onions and (my favourite) sauerkraut.
If they have it, go for the smoked pork bratwurst – it’s got the true woody smokey taste, and it’s finger licking good.

This is where they sell those gourmet sausages right? I’m going to have to try it sometime. Though it’s also hard to get past Mondo’s steak and pork sandwiches just up the road.

Adrian – Hey Adrian! Elmar’s gourmet sausages are really good. Admittedly, not very appealing to look at (it is a sausage after all…) but great quality (go the cheese kransky!). K keeps asking for bratwursts every weekend but on your advice, next time I will suggest the famous Mondo’s roast pork sanger. ;)
